Tour Dates: 26th October to 12th November 2012
This tour starts in Darjeeling and heads into the little known areas of Sikkim and then into the Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan. Very few people have visited this kingdom as it has only opened its doors to tourists recently. A magical motorbike adventure for sure.
 
Day 1: Land in Delhi
Land in Delhi and pick up from airport by one of our team and taken to luxury hotel. We have a luxury car and driver on standby should anyone wish to visit any tourist attractions in the capital.
 
Day 2: Flight - Bagdogra
Once you arrive at the airport you will be picked up by our crew and transferred to our hotel in the Hill Station of Mirik in Darjeeling by coach. Guesthouse for the night. (50 km)
 
Day 3: Darjeeling
Introduction to your 500cc Royal Enfield and relaxed day ride through the tea plantations of Darjeeling and the foothills of the Himalayas. Guesthouse for the night. (100 km)
 
Day 4: Darjeeling - Sikkim
A wonderful ride with great views of the Himalayas and some great mountain roads. Stunning scenery varying from tea plantations to mountain woodlands and river crossings. Guesthouse for the night. (100 km)
 

Day 5: Sikkim

We ride around Sikkim today and continue to ride around the twisting mountain roads looking at the scenery. We will also visit Rumtek Gompa, Sikkim most famous monastery. Guesthouse for the night. (90 km)
 
Day 6: Day trip today - Phodong Monastery
A great ride through more stunning scenery take us to the this picturesque Monastery and we will get a chance to discover some local Buddhist history in this famous monastery. Guesthouse for the night. (90 km)
 
Day 7: Sikkim - Bhutan Border
The first big ride today will take us to the Bhutan border. We will spend the night in a hotel on the border while our team sorts out all the formalities. We will also be hooking up with our Bhutanese team for the next leg of the tour. Guesthouse for the night. (260 km)
 
Day 8: Bhutan border - Paro
Once we cress the border in the morning we will be spend the day riding through the western mountains of the mystical Kingdom of Bhutan. Some great riding and scenery through the valleys leading to Paro and altitudes reaching 6,561 ft. Guesthouse of the night. (200 km)
 
Day 9: Paro
Hiking to Taktsang monastery. Taktsang monastery is one of Bhutan's most famous places and is sometimes called "The Dragons Nest." Afternoon free in Paro for shopping and sightseeing. Guesthouse for the night.
 
Day 10: Paro - Thimphu
We will ride up to Chele La Pass (10,827 feet) and once we arrive in the Capitol there will be a chance to check out this small city of about 50,000 inhabitants. Guesthouse for the night. (130 km)
 
Day 11: Thimphu - Dzongs of Phonaka
Cross Doje La Pass (11,318 ft) and visit the DZONGS of Phonaka. This fortress is one of the most spectacular in Bhutan and the views are literally out of this world. We will stay in a guesthouse for the night near the Dzongs. Guesthouse for the night. (120 km)
 
Day 12: Tzongs of Phonaka - Trongsa Dzong
More fortresses today as we visit Wangdue and Trongza Dzongs and ride up the mighty Pene La Pass (13,482 feet). After a truly magic ride up and down scenic mountain roads we will get a glimpse of Trongsa Dzongs, which dwarfs the surrounding village. Guesthouse for the night. (140 km)
 
Day 13: Trongsa - Bhumthang
We continue to head east today and ride though some of Bhutan's most scenic valleys. The long winding roads are a joy as we pass many local villages and stop to check out some scenic spots along the way. Guesthouse for the night. (120km)
 
Day 14: Bhumthang - Mongar
Most of the locals around these parts of east Bhutan don't get to see many tourists and as a result there will be lots of smiles and waving from them. The villages have been unchanged here for hundreds of years and it really is a joy to get to see this far east into Bhutan. Guesthouse for the night. (90 km)
 
Day 15: Mongar - Tashigang
Riding even further east through mountain forests and deep valleys, long winding roads give more inspiring riding conditions today as we head to our guesthouse in Tashigang. (140km)
 
Day 16: Tashigang - Samdrup
More incredible roads on this last days ride and time to say goodbye top you Enfield which you will have come quite attached to by now. Samdrup has plenty of local crafts to buy before departure to Delhi tomorrow. (180km)
 
Day 17: Samdrup -Guwahati
Our A/C coach will drive you to the capitol of Assam, Guwahati today for your flight back to Delhi. Hotel for the night.
 
Day 18:
Return flight or onward journey
